From the latest Construction Update: West Portal work continuous through Monday morning this weekend and next
The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning December 4, was circulated at 5:43 pm yesterday by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners, which would seem to be sufficient lead time.
Actually, though, it contained information regarding work that night that should have been--but wasn't--in the previous alert, information about the work planned this weekend and next at the western end of the Vanderbilt Yard, part of a new West Portal entrance for the Long Island Rail Road to Atlantic Terminal:
Otherwise, there's a very modest amount of new work compared to the previous period.
Outside the railyard, median restoration work on Atlantic Avenue between Fort Greene Place and Sixth Avenue will continue, as will work on final punch list items for PD3 [sic] water and sewer installations and sidewalk and roadway restoration work.
The median MPT (maintenance and protection of traffic) will be extended east beyond Sixth Avenue and South Portland Avenue up to South Oxford Street to allow for restoration work to progress. The lane shift on eastbound Atlantic Avenue will be moved further east to accommodate that work.
Saturday and after-hours work
Ongoing testing for the new LIRR substation may extend weekday work hours up to 7 pm and may require work on Saturday and Sunday.
The demolition that hasn't happened
As stated in the past 39 construction updates, demolition at Block 1120, the railyard block between Sixth and Carlton avenues, could commence upon receipt of Department of Buildings and Department of Transportation permits. A community notice will be distributed. Maybe it's not actually going to happen within this two-week reporting period.

Work will start Friday evening and be continuous to Monday Morning on the weekends of 12/1/17 and 12/8/17. LIRR will stage for this work in the west end of the yard.
