Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park infographics: what's built/what's coming/what's missing, who's responsible, + project FAQ/timeline (pinned post)

Outside the arena, new parking on the loading dock and pad; in nearby Park Slope, the "new norm" of illegal parking, honking, and more

I wandered by the Barclays Center yesterday during the Nets game and saw how parking opportunities seem to have expanded.

First, the loading dock:

Then, the "pad" outside the loading dock, which usually has some buses or trucks, rather than a parade of cars:

The new norm?

As described by a contributor to Atlantic Yards Watch, after the game Dec. 23, The new norm - illegal parking, double-parking, idling, honking, loss of residential parking:
Location: St. Marks Place b/w 4th & 5th Ave
When: December 23, 2012 - 2:30pm
Nothing new here....cars parked illegally in all the usual spots along 5th Ave. Private cars (some of which are residents trying to park) idling on side streets waiting for spots to open up....all combining to create the usual 2 hour pre and post-event horn-blaring show. It occurs to me that this problem could be largely solved by implementing resident permit parking like other cities have successfully done (Boston near Fenway park is good example).
